18.0 -27.0 hours per week

Work time: 0800-1800

 Job Description: 
 
KEY DUTIES:
 
Assist in the efficient production of high-quality food within the available budget, whilst maintaining high standards of hygiene and cleanliness, as directed by the Cook. Ensure all crockery and equipment is cleaned and stored appropriately, and that the overall cleaning of the kitchen area is carried out effectively. Promote safe working practice in the kitchen. Comply with Health & Safety and Hygiene Regulations.
Covering Cook: Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals and snacks, as and when required. Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual residents.
Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer/fridge temperatures.
Order stocks and check deliveries. Ensure stock rotation.
 
 
Responsibilities: 
 
Report any accident / incident immediately to the Nurse-in-Charge. Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required. Ensure that all personal information relating to residents remains confidential. Clean all prescribed areas in accordance with daily, weekly and monthly cleaning schedules.
 
Essential Skills: 
 
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing. 
Enhanced Access NI to be completed by the successful candidate. 
Have a genuine commitment to working as part of a team within a caring environment.
 
Desirable Skills: 
 
Previous experience in a similar role.
