Hours: 18 per week

Work Time: 8:00am – 6:00pm, over two days

The Cook will be responsible for preparing, cooking and serving nutritious meals for residents, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene and safety at all times.
Food Preparation
Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals and snacks as required
Cater for special dietary requirements and individual resident preferences
Plan menus to provide a balanced, nutritious diet using fresh ingredients
Maintain accurate records of food supplies and fridge/freezer temperatures
Order stock, check deliveries and ensure correct stock rotation
Supervise and instruct kitchen staff in equipment use and hygiene procedures
Health & Safety
Ensure all crockery and kitchen equipment is cleaned and stored correctly
Maintain a clean kitchen environment in line with cleaning schedules
Report faulty appliances, damaged equipment or potential hazards to the Nurse Manager
Promote safe working practices and ensure statutory Health & Safety standards are met
Other Responsibilities
Maintain confidentiality of all personal resident information
Participate in staff meetings and mandatory training as required
Promote and uphold the good reputation of Manor Healthcare at all times
Report any accident or incident immediately to the Nurse-in-Charge
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Genuine commitment to working as part of a team within a caring environment
Enhanced Access NI check (required for the successful candidate)
Previous experience in a similar role
